Who Can Bid: Only buyers with no less than 10 feedbacks AND a percentile of more than 95% can participate in this auction. General Description: What is being offered for sale is a RARE “Flintridge” 14K solid-gold wristwatch by the Hamilton Watch Co. The serial number is 4335741 and indicates a production date of 1932. The 17-jewel movement is a Grade 987-F. See the photo gallery for details and condition, which is excellent. To view the dial requires pressing down on the “extended” lug located at the top right corner of the case – see photos. The watch is complete, fully functional, and ALL original. The movement size is 6/0. The dimensions of the case are 28 mm (width) and 39 mm (length). Casemaker & Band: The maker of the case is the Hamilton Watch Co. The case is marked “14K”. The additional inscription includes “PAT APPLD, Lancaster, PA, 153709”. The band is signed “Speidel. The information inscribed on the band includes “1/20 10K GF Tops 61”. Monogram: The Art Deco style monogram on the case is “JC”. Case Condition: There are no dents or dings or significant scratches – see photos. The case hinge and lifting lever aren’t damaged and they’re in good working order. Dial/Hands: See photos. The radium dial and hands are in slightly good condition – and they’ve not been refinished or touched up. Operational: I don’t know when the watch used to be last cleaned and lubricated, but as is, it is ticking nicely and the balance has a good motion in all positions and is true in both the round and the flat. The watch is likely keeping time to within a couple of minutes per day, plus the regulator has room for adjustment. Note that the movement used to be wound and timed (pendant up) for 8 hours and remained within 36 seconds. Winding/Setting: The winding and setting mechanisms are nice and smooth. The crown will have to be gently lifted to the hands setting position in order that the stem isn’t pulled free of the movement. It’s best to slide a fingernail under the crown and pry up gently. If the stem is pulled free of the movement, it may be gently pushed back into the movement and will remain safe (in other words it may not fall out). Provenance: The watch used to be consigned by the son of the original owner – and has not been altered or repaired in anyway. The watch comes with a copy of the 1931 Hamilton Flintridge advertisement. Note that the Grade 987 sold for $147 – all the way through the GREAT DEPRESSION! Guarantee: The watch will also be returned for a refund of the bid amount if the seller is notified within 30 days of receipt (as decided by Delivery Confirmation) and the watch is in the condition shown in the photos. You will need to me that each customer is 100% satisfied. Thus, I will be able to do whatever is required to ensure that each customer is pleased with ALL aspects of the transaction. Payment and Shipment: All payments will have to be received by me within 10 days after the auction has ended. On the other hand, since I have a “no question return policy” and if the buyer is unable to make payment, he can simply cancel the auction without any consequences. IMPORTANT Shipping Details: Buyer pays for USPS priority mail. In ALL cases, the carrier will have to be the US Postal Service (USPS). Fedex, DHL, and UPS aren’t acceptable. There are NO handling or packaging fees for shipping. Delivery confirmation and insurance (if required) will be paid for by the seller. Source: JDC_004. Copyright 2019 Stephen B.
